MCAT

AAMC's 2013 MCAT removed the writing sample, perhaps because it was too subjective. The 2015 MCAT has a smaller emphasis on knowledge of the hard sciences, and a greater emphasis on the "soft" sciences. This is understandable; you do need to know psychology and sociology to be a good physician. The mind, body, and soul are not discrete compartments. They are deeply united. Also, a great problem in healthcare is how to properly distribute it. Just like with food, we don't have a population problem we have a distribution problem, and medical students should be aware of sociological problems that can promote disease.

A problem with this new MCAT, however, is its hidden curriculum: studying for it has become a crash course in feminist, communist/socialist, and LGBTQIA ideologies. The AAMC does not demand an equally thorough understanding of alternatives, such as equity (search for 'equity' in this book) and natural law.

Here I will provide general study help and a tiny counterbalance to the MCAT's hidden curriculum. For AAMC's topic list, refer to this pdf.
